Hello,
My name is Vesela Flamburari and I write children's books. I write about the child I will always be. I also write for the others - out there - the other children who no longer play оn the streets, but who nevertheless stubbornly turn their lives into a game. I write about our overwhelming need for fantasy worlds. Worlds I see clearly behind the curtains of my eyelids. This is my world. Slowly, I pick up the pen. My world. I do not allow anyone to mold me in their own image and likeness. I weave the words in these lands. I can make sugar cakes, but I can also knead life-giving bread. And I don't eat cakes when soda bread is enough for me. Here I am - real or changeable. As I see myself in the magic mirror. The most beautiful in the world? Why not...
When Vesela Flamburari writes and Petar Stanimirov paints, we believe everything is possible. "Gold from Zagrey" offers us a fresh and interesting interpretation of mythological elements from ancient stories bequeathed to us by our ancestors, but also throws at young readers not only magical threats, but also very real ones. Old gold and the symbolism of bullion coins are much more than parallels to the threat to our cultural heritage, and mobsters and treasure hunters are not just today's thugs populating the newscasts. This is Vesela Flamburari's characteristic note of frankness in the dialogue with the children.
A magnificent fairy-tale children's fantasy, written in the best traditions of the genre and skillfully interweaving elements of Bulgarian mythology and folklore in an absolutely magical and unforgettable way. Vesela Flamburari writes extremely sweet and fascinating, original, exciting, rich and... delicious. The characters are interesting, fleshed out, diverse and, frankly, already very, very beloved. There is so much kindness and such simple profound wisdom in this book! I wish everyone who loves magic and adventure, young or adult, to experience it.
I enjoyed "A night in May with the Fairy and her Candle" even more than its predecessor, "Nia and the Goblin's Treasure", which is amazing, since the first book enchanted me. However, this one is even more enchanting and beautiful, winning you over from the start with Radeva's paintings, but making you fall in love with Vesela Flamburari's story. Fengyi has become my favorite character of hers and his story's ending is heartbreaking and beautiful. Love makes everything more beautiful, and the poetry before and after the main text made a very strong impression on me, for me it is gorgeous.
Have you ever turned the first page of a story and sunk into it like in your favorite armchair, the words enveloping you like a warm blanket, warming your soul with fairy-tale pictures? Crossing the gate of the school for gifted children in Balchik, where Mina also studied, the words magic took a hold of me, whirled me in a basket of chestnut leaves and transported me to the wonderful worlds of the Upper Earth.
I was surprised how much I liked them and how I read them in one sitting, one after the other. I love fantasy in the modern world and I "struggled" with it in "Nia and the Goblin's Treasure". It fit perfectly for my age of 36. Oh my, I wondered if it was natural to like children's books and I quickly found the answer - well, it's natural when you carry a little one inside you! 🙂 Then I continued with the beautifully presented, fairy-tale story "A Night in May with the Fairy and her Candle". Definitely more childish and different from the previous one, but after I read it, I fell asleep, the story transported me to the wonderful land of dreams.
I hesitated to get "Gold from Zagrey" by Vesela Flamburari when I heard the news about the book. First, Vesela Flamburari writes perhaps the richest and most colorful fantasy worlds that came from the pen of a Bulgarian writer. Every page overflows with gorgeous details to fall in love with, and in the big picture myth, legend and originality merge into something new and wonderful. Second, how she writes them! As in the folk tales when they describe how the maiden lines up words, pearls drip, this is how Vesela Flamburari writes. I love her books so much that I recommend them to anyone, despite the deep... um, to put it mildly dislike I have for Mina as a character.
A fairy tale and whirlwind adventure novel from which you will learn a lot about the myths, beliefs and life of the ancient Thracians. Children study the history of the ancient Thracians at school, so the book will be not only interesting, but also very useful. The action in the book takes place during the Summer Solstice or Midsummer (June twenty-fourth), which makes the text suitable for the summer vacation. The various herbs and medicinal herbs play a significant role in the story.

To intertwine in your book the tradition of Bulgarian fairy tales and our classic children's literature in modern style is an exceptional skill. Even the worlds in the book are so different. The story of the trilogy is dynamic, written close to the adolescent mind, and yet so graceful and elegant, without an inch of pretension and pomposity, that it will become a favorite of anyone who considers themself an adult.

An epic end to a journey full of adventures!
The third book for "Mina" „Мина“ proves the Bulgarian wisdom worthily. Flamburari's characters are devoted to the cause of good. As thinking and feeling beings, they set out to save all worlds – fictional and real. Only thought and action arranged in this order—thought and then action—make real life become what we have always dreamed it to be.

A story of love and self-sacrifice, of self-discovery. The Candlelight Fairy (this is a profession, not a name) is actually called Mesechka. Mesechka was born in the month of May, when the mists sleep and the flowers bloom with a wonderful fragrance. The little fairy has her own fluffy-shaggy-sparkling candle, as well as a dainty-moon-silver-glittering friend - the moonbeam Fengarios, or simply Fengi. Mesechka (the Fairy), Fengi and the Candle are living a completely careless life and enjoying each other's pleasant company, until one day... There is always one day, wackier than the rest, when everything can go wrong.
