WONDERFUL book!
Moreover, the topic here is a tough nut to crack - a DIFFICULT but IMPORTANT life situation and concerns the separation of a family. A topic that mainly concerns psychologists, but rarely finds adequate expression in children's literature.
And quite logically, the point of view here is presented from the child's side, revealing in a very subtle, delicate way the child's soul and vulnerability, the powerlessness and fears in such a shocking cataclysm as any divorce...
How do children on two warring sides feel?
How do the children of people who cannot find a common language and have chosen to go their separate ways feel?
How do you separate a child?
Does a child have to be a wizard to survive the storms of these strong feelings?
This book answers these and more questions, but in a very gentle, encouraging and magical way through the eyes, tears, experiences and rich inner world of a little 8-year-old boy - Matthew, who at first does not even suspect how much strength he has within himself... This is an adventure about inner strength and self-awareness!

"Matthew The Rainy and the Runaway House" is a fairy tale that can be read as a pure fantasy adventure, but also as a therapeutic story – gentle and honest towards children going through difficult family changes. It does not offer ready-made recipes, but an invitation to conversation and empathy.
This book is more than a fairy tale – it is an embrace, a comfort, and a promise that even when the sky is foggy and the tears are many, there is always a path to a home that is not running away, but waiting to be found.
