"Theater tales"

Originally written as stage plays, the plays unfold as stories – long and short, hilarious and even more, funny and instructive, each suitable for either the little ones, or the young children or even grown-up children (also known as teenagers, or young adults).

Description

"Everywhere we turn our heads today, in our daily life as elderly people, one thought clearly strikes us: It is clear that we do not live in a fairy tale! Sad... But if we at least turn our gaze inward, to ourselves, a discovery will strike us and make us dizzy: Because we may imagine that we are not living in a fairy tale, but the fairy tale necessarily lives in us. Here's what I mean: Strange as it may sound, the fairy tale has become embedded in our emotional world and very tightly woven into our hopes for the future. It shines, like a silver thread, in our reason's hopes of salvation. It is the fairy tale that gives us a model for getting out of our seemingly dead ends. Even when we are adults, somewhere in us, on a purely emotional level, a child with open eyes and mind, professes the fairy-tale belief of the victory of good over evil... It all boils down to the ultimate effort to understand, to be all connected, on line. To decipher the signs of what surrounds you and to act on what you have learned. We do it all the time... And when we succeed, it means only one thing: We walk and breathe, on the sprung, green earth of our own fairy tale!"

Reviews

  • Bogdana Kosturkova, theater critic

Although they undoubtedly have outstanding literary value, the tales from the book have excellent stage possibilities. These stage possibilities give the freedom to be played by humans and puppets. The author bets on the fabulous miracle. It shows the rich and saturated culture. There is a clearly defined range of future viewers – young children, older children, teenagers. The stories, though told as fairy tales, show a very good knowledge of theatrical details. Flamburari knows how to lead a narrative and constructs very effective dialogue. She has a keen eye for detail and plot. The lyrics impress with imagination, message, culture. The author's strong sense of humor is especially spot on. This is precisely what makes the messages not didactic, but accessible to every child.

[...] And especially about the stories from "Theater Tales", you should know that they were originally born as scripts for plays, and only later, after they matured like pupae in a cocoon, spread their wings and flew 6like fairy tales! Did you know that Vesela Flamburari graduated from NATFIZ with a major in "Acting Mastery for Puppet Theater"? Well, you should know that she is not only good with fairy tales, but she is also no stranger to the stage, and here she managed to combine both!
