The place of texts in the period of literacy in a multicultural environment - an interview with Daniel Polikhronov

Mrs. Flamburari, you are a popular children's author. You graduated from NATFIZ "Krastyo Sarafov" with a major in "Acting Mastery for Puppet Theater". Puppet shows appeal to preschool and elementary school age children, and your books are aimed at both preschool and elementary school age children, as well as young adults. How to implement the continuity between kindergarten and primary school, and subsequently to the junior high school stage of the basic educational level? How, through what approaches, could we keep children interested in literary texts?

The pace at which today's children grow up is very fast. This makes the inner rhythm of life in our children simply fast-paced. Contemplation is now a real rarity. In this sense, taking care of the good and interesting progress of a meeting between an author and a children's audience is very important. Meetings with children's authors is a very good approach to encouraging children to read. In these encounters, the author must find a way to hold the bouncing childish mind in one thought. Even Andersen told his stories to children's audiences by cutting his characters out of paper. And that was in the nineteenth century... A very important part of the life of a book is its presentation to the public. I'm really talking about presentation, not for premiere of a book. The premiere is a one-off event that brings together the author and their friends and admirers in an evening dedicated only to the newly released book. Presenting a book or an author, on the other hand, can happen all the time. Whenever there is a desire, need and will for it. The author may be a contemporary, but they may also be a long-established classical author. Of course, when the author is alive, meeting them and their work at the same time could be very interesting. As long as the author takes care of the interesting presentation of their books... This is especially true for children's literature. Most book presentations are organized for children. In fact, this is so, because of the extremely selfless work of librarians, teachers and educators.

Another very important approach is the efforts of adults in the process of children's reading.
